    Ride Starter: Ronald

+++The summer ride schedule is active now, only rides 40 miles or less, be back at the car no later than 11 to beat the heat+++

Today's route is 38 miles, store in Fayetteville.

One of our prettiest rides.  Routes of 37, 42 and 51 miles through scenic, rolling countryside.  Good roads and pretty scenery, very little traffic. Short route goes to Fayetteville and back. Be sure to spend some time at the beautiful Fayetteville town square. The longer routes miss Fayetteville, but go through Frelsburg before heading back to Columbus via Zimmerscheidt Road and the Mentz Community.

To get there, go about 75 miles west on I-10 to US-90/Columbus exit, cross bridge to Courthouse Square. Park on the south side of the square.

--Today's ride is 36.4 miles, no store, bring plenty of water--

This route stays west of the older Chappell Hill routes, going as far west as Brenham.  This is a very pretty ride with some pretty challenging hills. Routes of 35, 43 and 48 miles. Rest stops at stores in Brenham (all routes) and Independence (43,48). To get there, take Highway 290 from Houston, go about 65 miles (12 miles past Hempstead) until you come to the flashing light at the intersection of Hwy. 290 and FM 1155. There's a sign there that says "Chappell Hill" to the right. Turn right on FM 1155 and go about 1 mile to the center of town. Turn right on Poplar. We are now parking in the empty lot on Poplar just behind the restrooms.

    • Stude Park, Houston Heights

This is an informal, leader led ride, at a leisurely pace (Ride speed: 11 to 14 mph ) for those who want to see parts of Houston and many of its special places by bike. The rest stop is typically at one of the city's independent coffee houses, so if you like coffee, and want to ride through some interesting neighborhoods, this is the ride for you. Total distance is between 20 and 25 miles. Come out and enjoy the company and sights of the city. The ride starts at Stude Park on Usener St. near Michaux St. The nearest large cross streets are White Oak and Studemont.
