    • Hempstead, texas

    Starter: Ronald

Usual route, somewhere between 40-45 miles

One of our prettiest rides. Routes of 23, 37, 41 and 50 miles, mostly on backroads and lightly travelled Farm to Market Roads. There are even a few hills thrown in for good measure. Stores in Field Store Community and at the Hwy. 6 crossing. Plus, there are several options for varying the route, so you can make it a different ride every time if you want to.

To get to the start, go northwest on US-290 to Hempstead. Exit on FM 1488 south into Hempstead. Turn right on Business 290 into "downtown". Go past the light at Highway 6 (McDonalds will be on your left), cross the RR tracks then turn left. Park behind the City Hall building (used to be fire station), one block off 290, 12th near Main.

Join us for another adventure as we explore the vastness of the Houston cityscape. We usually ride around 40 miles, with a breakfast stop and probably one more stop for refreshments. We head in a different direction each month, so this is a great way to see Houston from a perspective that you may not get to experience otherwise. Houston is full of surprises. This is a group ride, and nobody gets dropped, but you should be able to maintain a pace of 14 to 16 mph.

We'll meet in front of Dan's house at 510 Crestwood on the eastern edge of Memorial Park. Departure at about 9:00ish.

    • Columbus, TX

    Ride Starter: Ronald

One of our prettiest rides.  Routes of 37, 42 and 51 miles through scenic, rolling countryside.  Good roads and pretty scenery, very little traffic. Short route goes to Fayetteville and back. Be sure to spend some time at the beautiful Fayetteville town square. The longer routes miss Fayetteville, but go through Frelsburg before heading back to Columbus via Zimmerscheidt Road and the Mentz Community.

To get there, go about 75 miles west on I-10 to US-90/Columbus exit, cross bridge to Courthouse Square. Park on the south side of the square.
