The Houston Club (HBC) is a non-profit, volunteer supported, bicycle touring club. The information that we collect is to keep in touch with our members as well as inform them of new rides. We suggest that our members maintain an Emergency Contact person in case they are injured on a ride.

We collect information for the following purpose(s):

  • Completing or supporting an activity- like joining us on a ride, or renewing your membership
  • Website and system administration- to keep a record of all our members online.
  • Contacting our member for promotion of the site or our rides
  • Other purposes. Emergency Contact information (name, address, and phone number) of a spouse, relative or friend.

Who has access to the information we collect

  • Only our members, and Board of Directors.  Billing like credit card information is available only to Pay Pal  and not HBC .

Of the information we do collect, we allow our members the following access to the information:
Access is given to some collected information such as — name, email addresses and photos submitted by the members.  Members may edit their personal profile to change privacy changes.  Addresses were carried over from the old web site where addresses were necessary to receive the mailed  news letter.  Addresses are preserved in case we find a need to mail information to members for a special occasion.
